Azaan Kamau is an Choctaw Indian African American, who is a nationally syndicated journalist, poet, self-publisher, and photographer of Sherman Oaks, California.
Azaan Kamau is not only a writer and publisher! At a young age, Azaan was captivated by her grandmother’s sepia toned photos and her prized possessions…an old Kodak, a Brownie and an Argus! Not only was Azaan’s grandmother driven to capture life through the camera lens, since the early 80’s, Azaan’s mother has been recording the family’s history, events, and special occasions! Since the age of fourteen, Azaan has been taking photos and living her passions by creating amazing photographic images!
Azaan’s images have been published in magazines, newspapers, advertisements, used in film sequences, book covers, corporate brochures, invitations, posters, calendars, and much, much more!
Azaan’s images have also been included in several Underground Exhibitions at the prestigious Getty Museum, and numerous art exhibitions around the country.
