Elsa is born with an unusual and very special connection with her mother. When she is a four years old, she is traumatized when her mother is the first victim of a serial killer later known as the Harvester. Although the horrific memory is suppressed, it has a dramatic impact on the rest of her life.
She and her father learn to move on and find happiness, but each fall the Harvester strikes again, reviving the pain. Despite this and other heart-wrenching tragedies that befall her, Elsa develops into a strong and determined young woman, though one with a darkness lurking inside her mind.
Twenty years after her mother was ripped from Elsa's life, the Harvester continues to claim victims and elude the FBI. She decides to take the law into her own hands, adopts an alias and devotes her life to killing the Harvester, drawing him out by making herself a potential victim. Training, discipline, and tapping into that darkness within her, have made her a dangerous weapon; a weapon that finds more than one target.

Harvest of the Heart is a 5/5 It's a book written by a talented writer. You feel empathy for Elsa even when you don't always agree with her methods. It's full of suspense and mystery and you find that you don't want it to end because it's such an enjoyable read. Due to ill health I had to stop reading halfway through but as soon as I picked it up again I could remember exactly what was going on, there was no need to backtrack and look up who was who because of bad characterisation, no need to try and work out what was going on due to bad plotting. To me this shows just what a good book it is and how well written it is. I'm hoping Michael carries on writing and I can get to read more by this excellent author.
