Tom has never fought in a war. He has never brokered a lavish contract. His name has never been lauded in anything more than insignificant gatherings. Tom does not know what it is like to be above ordinary. He is buried deep in genetic mediocrity as if his existence is supposed to be nothing more than a common tool to be used for something greater than him. He does not know if he can emerge from his indiscernible nature to defeat a life of ineffectiveness or if, in the end, it is even worth it.
