When a Marine is stricken, when the odds are highly remote, it’s a grueling fight to the finish even off the battlefield. Semper Fi … Always faithful.
Semper Fi will bring you from laughter to tears with the turn of a page. Lead character Talia Ragazza was born late in life to Josephina and Louie, a not-so-typical Italian couple who are total opposites in every way. A physical therapist by profession, Talia is employed at a zany physical therapy clinic, where riotous slap-stick humor is the norm. Becoming a great concern to Talia, her father, a former United States Marine, begins to exhibit bizarre medical symptoms which ultimately lead to paralysis. Quite a colorful character, Louie becomes Talia’s most challenging patient ever as she takes family leave to care for her father. Humor continues to fly with Louie’s antics while the emotional turmoil, dedication and perseverance exhibited will move you deeply. In what little spare time she has, Talia has aspirations of becoming a writer. Despite rejection after rejection from the ‘literary gods’, she refuses to become discouraged. Through her writing, she ultimately brings her father the greatest gift of all - victory. Romance becomes intertwined when Talia meets up with Vince, a former classmate who becomes involved in Louie’s rehab. With wedding plans on the horizon, Vince becomes determined that his bride’s father will walk her down the aisle. Louie’s determination to once again walk is likewise ignited. A force to be reckoned with Vince and Louie set out to do the unimaginable. Semper Fi is poignant, uplifting and displays how to smile in the face of adversity.
